2nd year/15kmile service cost for a 1100evo

Bike 2nd birthday was in March but has only covered a few hundred miles since (13k now). It's the big one with cam belt and valve clearance.

Called Inmoto Croydon just now and was quoted £750 all in, 8 months ago I was quoted £500 by the same dealer for the same service. Obviously the dealer denied the 1st quote by phone , not sure if it's due to more jobs during summer time or not.

My "local" MD racing in Walton is cheaper at £650 but they are not dealer, although they claim their service is more comprehensive compared to the dealer.

Are these prices competitive for an dealer / specialist? If not, any other alternative/recommendations in the South East? Thanks.

Always Rosso Corse or Ducati Pro Team for me.

Rosso for the convenience of central London if you commute or live East, the customer service/banter which is rare in London and the fact it always feels like a new bike when I collect (I have no idea what they do but others will tell you the same, they are magicians) plus I always see at least one or two UKMOCers in there.

Ducati Pro Team may collect for a small fee and so I have used Al a few times when I haven't been able to get a bike in or don't want to ride through London. He even delivered the 749R to Brands Hatch for me earlier in the year after I couldn't collect before a track day. Top bloke!

Al at Pro Team has generally been a fraction cheaper for me although I've tended to tell him exactly what it needs doing while Rosso were always told "do whatever you think it needs" so that is not a fair comparison.

I have used both and will continue to do so. Both 100% recommended so give them a call and ask for a price

Try JHP in Coventry too. Their prices will make your eyes water though, but they will collect and deliver for free.

Phone Rosso Corse in Bethnal Green and ask him his price first.
Be very specific about what will get done and don't allow him to do anything else unless he checks with you. Usually about £50 an hour for labour against £90 for Metropolis in Vauxhall.
Rosso Corse has the Ducati diagnostic computer but Alec at Ducati Proteam doesn't.

Both are very good and take great care of the bikes.

Thanks for the feedback - Rosso Corse's quote is very similar to dealer's but Pro Team is hard to ignore with a £300 difference.

Alec explained that apart from the inability to re-set the service light (due to different ECU system), the service will cover the same items as the Ducati service schedule/checklist. Does it make sense and if so how important for the service light reset?

Also, I have a Termi full system, does it mean that the air filter can be re-used after cleaning?

Had my evo serviced last month, there is an update for the ecu on fuelling, so it may be worth taking it to a fully equipped dealer as there may be other updates as well.

~£350 at Woods, Abergele. Come up here for the weekend, take a bike for a test ride while yours is being serviced, and you'll still be up on the deal!

At 15k he'll need shims checked. This needs to be done with a stone cold engine, so the "ride up and get the service done" isn't an option . I do wonder how a full service can cost that when you have £200+ in parts alone, even before you look at shims.

Re Ducati diagnostic isn't just the service light. The box control other stuff like CO2 trim and TPS. Will also show any past errors logged etc.

Pro Team did insisted on having the bike cold to check/adjust valves clearance and presumably the shims as well. It's unbelievable for a dealer to charge just £350 all in, they must be super efficient. One dealer told me that the quoted labour hours are quite conservative and an experienced technician can complete the service in less time.

I already fitted the O2 eliminator so there's always a light on upon start up, the dealer told me not to worry about it. Guess it's a low tech engine so hopefully any apparent fault will manifest itself....

Going with Pro team as the savings are too hard to ignore....

That's what they quoted me. Perhaps their labour costs are much lower. I got the service done (including new belts and shims) by http://www.moto-r.co.uk/ for a tad less than that too
