With this informing insurance company where does it say you have to inform them asap about convictions? All I found is if you had accident/theft or moved you need to let them know asap.

I'm curious...if you've had a speeding ticket that allows you to do one of these awareness courses instead of the points do you still have to report it to the insurers?

This was a while ago when I changed to digital clocks on the old bike, expensive way to find out that the instructions for calibrating the speedo were wrong!

They're actually not too bad, waste of an evening and you still pay the fine but I remember plenty of hot chocolate and biscuits

I got 60 GBP increase on my bike insurance despite getting 1 year NCB finally (now also protected NCB).

Said that at the same time I have added extra bike to policy.

How odd....the car policy (eSure) states you have to disclose penalty points etc immediately but the bike policy (eBike) states you have to let them know at renewal time????

Better read your policies before you end up invalidating them or paying up unnecessarily.

"You must advise us of any Convictions when taking out or renewing a policy.

Failure to disclose any material information or inaccuracies in the information given could invalidate your insurance cover and mean that part or all of your claim may not be paid.

Please click here for details of the Duty of Disclosure .

If your motoring conviction has occurred part way through your policy term, you do not need to notify us of it until renewal.

I'd be very glad if 12% of my insurance bill was only £45...

And as others have said Kam, insurance has gone up for lots of people even with no claims in the year.
