3X Motorcycles in Dorset give up Ducati.

I have been to 3X today and was surprised to see only 3 bikes in the showroom. When I asked why, I was told they have given the franchise up and will no longer sell new Ducatis once the last ones left have gone. They will still service peoples bikes if needed.

This is due to the investment in upgrading the showroom that is required to meet Ducatis criteria.
The up side may be some cheap clothing going...................

I've heard a rumour that a much more customer friendly dealer may be opening a branch to take their place....

Pedro, They said given up as they didn't want to invest £50k to upgrade the showroom, but who really knows? They also said a dealer in Winchester would cover the area, so I assume they mean Moto Rapido?

hard to beat Moto rapido on service, quality and parts ...maybe on price

It's a shame things seem to be going downhill at Three Cross, probably at least partly caused by themselves. Their servicing seems pricey and without the feedback and flexibility you get at Moto Rapido. I bought my last bike from Three Cross and was very happy with the member of staff that I dealt with. Another member of the sales staff probably didn't do them any favours with a less than helpful manner.

I've been visiting Three Cross since the late 'seventies and used to go down to their annual open days as it was a chance to ride the Le Mans. Until recently they held a fabulous selection of bikes, having dealerships for MV Agusta, Ducati, Morini, Triumph and Yamaha. They usually had a good selection of Guzzis and Benellis as well.

It would be good if they turned things round but don't think it will happen.

I can't say I thought much of them when I was last down there due to me having to help someone out who had just brought a Suzuki SV second hand which had apparently been checked/full serviced before it left. The girl riding it made it to the road, just out of their car park before it was pissing fuel out the carbs, needless to say the salesman who eventually came over was a bit worried....
