Why the bolts in the seat?.. And what's wrong with the front mudguard? Can't put my finger on it... and what's the writing on the tyres all about?

The front guard looks to be spaced too high up off the tyre to me, that's what you might be seeing. The front tyre itself still has soap on it from where it's been fitted, so the writing might be a form of tyre size marking that wears off with use, but I've not seen it before. Both the above suggest a too smaller profile tyre might have been fitted. Nasher.
