Problem with NIP not me or my bike ??

3 weeks ago Got a NIP from Sussex Police for a 37 in a 30 from a mobile unit for my 750ss but I was not there on that date and the photo clearly shows another bike ,, make unknown , colour unknown ??? , but its not my bike or a red 750ss thats certain ,, they dont have any rider pictures ?? and it has no fairings or carbon fibre pipes ???
I have told Sussex Police but they are insisting that its my bike ???? I have sent NIP back stating all this and that I cant identify the rider ,, looks like this might end up in court ???

I was home at the time and the bike was safely in my garage ,

I dont trust sussex police at all after what happend with my daughter 2 years ago ,,

If you have legal cover with your insurance get a solicitor and even if you do not get one anyway and then write to the police telling them you are hiring a solicitor and will seek full recovery of all your costs as you are entirely innocent. Take pictures of all of your UK bikes from the same approximate angle as the NIP photo and find whatever evidence you can that it could not have been you.
I once got a visit from South Wales Police saying I had driven off from a petrol station without paying. I had been in that petrol station but I did pay. I did not keep the credit card receipt.
Luckily my girlfriend kept the receipt for the petrol she bought on the way home, timed at the time of the alleged offence but 150 miles nearer civilisation.

I had a case exactly like this. I sent the police several photos of my bike at their request, and as soon as they compared it, I received written confirmation that no further action would be taken. Incidentally, my Monster in Norwich that day was a Hyabusa on a cloned plate. It was my bike reg, just not me or the bike. Try that approach. It'll never hold up.

Try http://www.pepipoo.com/
You can enter all the details regarding the NIP & you should get advice from the forum.

I have found it very helpful on a couple of occasions
