Yes - the main problem areas is where the wall meets the base (fixed with a concrete fillet), the cold walls which attract condensation and also where the roof screws are "protected" with clear plastic caps which UV destroys.

Mine is 8m x 4m with main door and side door which cost £3,500 so cheap space but not ideal

I have now had 3 quotes for Breeze block garages with Rendering all over £15k+ and with Brick £20k+so not going down that route.

Everyone of my mates with Timber garages/ workshops , have never been asked by insurers ???and some of them have £100k worth of bikes and tools in ????

Steel builldings is secure but the insulating is not easy by all accounts spoken with some locals.
about it , most of the newer garages around here are pre,fab sectional , rendered concrete and all seem dry and well built .....No one round here is keen on wood except for garden sheds all the wooden ones have been replaced with modern concrete ones

How much longer are you planning on messing about in garages? A good wooden one will see you out, the amount saved from a concrete one will enable more bike spend now. This seems a bit gloomy but practical I think

The decent wooden ones are same as concrete £4k +

perhaps - but content coverage is usually limited to a menial amount (c.£2000).

I pay through the nose for my B&C policy but it is one of the few that offer the full insured amount to apply to garages and outbuildings as well.

Got to find someone to demolish the old one , and increase the slab size and make a drain . also gotta work with my neighbour as present garage ia actually the boundary wall ... spoke with insurers today told them 45mm log cabin garage and bikes and tools ,, they said no problems ..
