I think the S4R stand (like the ally one I tried, mentioned above) has no "prong" to hook with your foot.
My steel one does have such a prong .. and is easy to hoick out. I used to covet an ally stand but recently I find that I'm getting to like the steel one more and more. And the weight is held low, so maybe doesn't count so much in the overall picture. Its strong, the pivot doesn't wear quickly and with the broad-base clubfoot fitted, its reliable on most surfaces. Apart from the spring thing, that is. I couldn't handle a centre stand these days. Ok, they're handy but all that extra iron, right where it catches all the crap too. And somehow it just aint "Ducati". |
