Hi Merlin

I'd be really interested in seeing the before and after dyno curves for this mod. I've not detected any blunting of the power delivery on my "seat-of-the-pants" dyno, just smoother low speed running.

As I mentioned earlier in the thread, when I was researching this mod, a new flywheel was about £200, which seemed excessive for a lump of metal, so I found a second-hand one in the States. Even after postage, it was less than £50, so much more affordable. You don't really have to worry about condition with a second-hand flywheel; it doesn't matter what happened to the donor bike - the flywheel should still be like new.

A quick check on eBay brings up this 2009 Hypermotard 1100S item, (also from the States), for £38 + £21 postage

Which might be worth making an offer on if you can't find one in the UK.

Are you planning to get the work done at Moto Rapido? If so, let us know when it's there; they're only 15 mins. from me and I'd love to see yours in the metal!

NB you'll need to drill a lot of holes somewhere to compensate for the extra 900 grams!
