I quite like it as it's a little different from the norm and a good solution if not a fan of the chopped look.

Personally I prefer the shape of the earlier tea tray compared to the later ones with the moulded indicator mounts especially as the part that the indicators mount to on the early bikes is removable allowing you to just keep the tea tray for a kind of 'docked' look rather than complete removal when chopping the frame.

Tidying the rear up was the first mod I did to my bike as I couldn't stand to have a huge number plate and it's associated hideous mud guard appendage.

So I simply made up an Aluminium bracket to mount and reposition the indicators using the pair of screws closest to the rear light holding the tea tray and another bracket for the number plate and it's light using the other pair of tea tray mount screws.

Back then there wasn't the LED rear lights with a PCB inside so my 'Clear Alternatives' lens simply replaced the original and uses a normal light fitting (BAY15D?) red LED cluster for the stop and tail instead of the 5/21w bulb and a 501 fitting LED illuminates my number plate within the original casing hiding under the tea tray.

As with all these things, it's personal preference and although mine's a little rough round the edges after 30,000 miles I still like the look of it.
