Mudguard mounting bolts

I would like to replace my mounting bolts on my M900 as they are rather chewed up. These are the button headed allen bolts with a shortish shoulder . I think they may be M6x1.0 and 14mm long thread but i'm no expert in sizing. Is this a standard bolt or a Ducati special ? Any info on sourcing would be most helpful.

What year is your bike?

'93 M900 I have listed as M5 x 17mm Domehead 4off

do they look like this? some measurements you can check too

if you get them from boltbase.com you'll want to find something else to order to make the postage worthwhile @ 70p for 10 (16mm is the closest they list)

When I was racing I had a bit of a deal with Pro Bolt so took advantage and replaced lots of furry fixings.

I just used their large button head screws (without a shoulder as per the original) but as long as you use a nylon washer behind they don’t bite in and hold fine.

boltbase have an eBay shop, where the price is a little higher but with free p&p, they do nylon washers too

It's a 1994 built bike I'm guessing ( at least the mudguard is dated 1994 ).

I found that the Yamaha FZR/R1/R6 fairing bolts etc are the same large head bolts as used on Ducati panels and so you can get them in titanium or alloy if your order those Yamaha sizes you need from the usual e auction site.

Take care not to crush the mudguard by overtightening the fixings. Later ones were beefed up with more plastic, then they changed the mountings completely when they went to bands around the fork legs.

For the record I can confirm the bolts are M6 x 1.0 ( coarse ) , and not M5 . Maybe Ducati changed the spec.

Without measuring your bolts, no.
Don’t forget nylon/plastic washers, unless you have the originals
