You can buy the metal strip on eBay easily enough.

If the carbon tube can be rotated (most likely it can) then you drill out the rivets, get the new metal strip and having rotated the carbon damage to the inside where it won't be seen, you rivet the thing back together.

Might as well repack the muffler whilst you have it all apart.
