E10

Hi there, its been an age since I was on here. Life took iver but....i managed to keep my 2004 Monster 620 dark in the garage and even go out on it once in a blue moon. I'm raring to get out on it more now and I am going to do a bit of tlc on it. One question I have is if it will take e10 petrol in It's plastic tank or will it cause problems? Anybidy have ideaz? Thanks in advance

I would only use E10 if nothing else was available and you certainly wouldn't want to leave any E10 (or even, to be safe, E5) in the tank if you're laying the bike up over winter. Ideally, use Esso Synergy Supreme+, which is still ethanol-free in most areas. It's more expensive but I for one am prepared to pay the extra for the peace of mind.

By the way, if you're getting the Monster back on the road after a considerable lay off, don't forget your belts may need changing...

Only use E10 if you've sealed the tank. Any ethanol will give you problems, even 5%
