Top yoke pinch bolt torque 2000 M900sie

My forks were sitting too low in the yokes, about 5mm showing, and after having a look on here and various manuals I have raised them to 20mm which gives the 280mm distance from the bottom yoke to the flat piece of the fork top.

I have looked in a couple of Ducati workshop manuals and they give a torque for the M8 bottom yokes at 20Nm but they don't give any for the top yokes, as the bolts are the same diameter I was going to torque them to 20Nm.

Can anyone please tell me if 20Nm is the correct value for the top ones?

I don't just want to assume it is as we all well know assumption is the mother of all cock-ups!

Sounds about right, I’d usually put a touch of copaslip on threads.
If the pinch bolts are in pairs, always tighten gradually/sequentially 1-2-1

I only have S2R1000 manual to hand: M8x1.25 24Nm +/-5% MolyDiSulphide Grease

My y2000 M900Sie Ducati Manual says;
Bottom Yoke bolts 22Nm +/-5% grease B. (moly)

Fork lug bolts (Is that the top yoke?) 19Nm +/-5% grease B (moly) seq 1-2-1

Just my opinion, and that only, but I think 5mm increment adjustments are recommended by suspension tuners.
15mm is quite a big jump so take it easy on the test ride.
Not being alarmist here as my forks are out 20mm.

I agree that the 20mm is a big difference from the 5mm but the more I looked at reference and what my first 900 had it's forks set to, I decided to reset them to their original position, also it gives the 280mm stated in the manual. I also looked at the hoop setting and that seems to be at the standard position of not being raised.

I made note of the clicks on the Ohlins at the rear and counted the clicks on the rebound and compression settings, what did surprise me was the number of clicks available from fully clockwise to fully anti-clockwise, there are loads on both settings. I went onto the Ohlins site and got the setting up and mounting instructions, it gives base settings, 12 & 14 if I remember correctly, but it doesn't say how many clicks it should take to get from fully clockwise to fully, so I sent them an email to see if they can tell me.

Mr Gazza, where did you manage to get your 2000 manual?, I have a couple but not specifically a 2000 Sie one.

Öhlins shocks of the same design tend to share the same hardware just with different shims/valves. Is your shock the one with a remote reservoir (DU440)? If so, it'll be an S46HR1C1 like the on on my Evo (DU432). The number of compression clicks on mine is 21 with over 50 clicks for the rebound so I wouldn't be surprised if what you've counted is correct.

Yes, it's the DU 440 and it's got similar amount of clicks as yours, over 20 and over 50, I thought I was going mad!

I won't be farting about with it too much, it would drive you mental, I'll go for the standard settings and if I'm happy with those that'll be it.

A mechanic friend said years ago, 'the worst thing they ever did is put multi adjustable suspension on bikes, some people think they can adjust it a notch and can feel a difference ! you'd be lucky if Rossi can get it spot on!, on the other hand they bring it to me to sort out!!!!!'

suspension:
compression/rebound - aways full in (clock) and count out, start 1/2 way. eg 16/32 clicks
adjust 2 clicks at a time, unless you motogp god, won't feel 1 click
keep notes!
