Caroline and myself are truly saddened hearing this. Such a fine man with a a Ducati heart of red.
Spoke to him last week now feel so shocked.
We are though so grateful that he and Barb came to our wedding and I will forever hold his memory with one of the gifts he got for me of official Ducati workshop coat which was not expected and caused such a laugh at that time and now I wont be able to not think of him. Whenever he called he always asked if I still wore them. The answer is always YES.
Please accept and pass on our condolences to your Mum and family.
Gutted.

Just received the news from Mike - utterly shocked and numbed by it. I only said to my wife last night, I was surprised I hadn't had a phone call from Geoff after the weekender.

Geoff was so happy on Sunday that the weekend had been such a huge success, it will always stand as a great memorial event to him.

He was always so enthusiastic with his (and other people's) bikes and always had a project on the go.

Our thoughts are with Barbara and family at this terribly sad time.

He will be greatly missed.

For those of you who didn't know Geoff, take a look at the weekender rebooted thread, there is a picture of him sitting in the window at Portmerion castle, enjoying his lunch & the company of his friends.
That is how I shall remember him.

So sorry to hear this sad news. My deepest condolences to the family.

I only got to know Geoff quite recently but one of the many great things about him was that he'd make you feel like an old friend straightaway. Like Anne, I will also miss his cheery phone calls - he never failed to leave me without a big smile on my face.

I'm pleased he got to enjoy the Weekender; I know how much he was looking forward to it. And didn't he do a fantastic job with the trophies?

He sent me a picture as he was really pleased with how they turned out.

Perhaps at next year's Weekender there could be a Geoff Welsby Memorial Trophy in honour of the great man.

I'll bet the angels will soon be trading in their wings for Ducatis and speaking with a broad scouse accent!

RIP Geoff.

Saddened to hear this today

My thoughts to Babs and the family on your loss, such a kind, generous chap was Geoff who ive been honoured to know through the club for 10 years

I will miss his calls and his chats, the hospitality that he has always shown me when we have passed the house and stopped in, and how he showed off the lemon drizzle cake that had been made.

I hope he can now ride free as that was what he so wanted to do again

I am pleased that we got to spend a great Weekender 2019 with him

Thinking of you all at this sad time. Barbara and I were laughing and joking at the Weekender about Geoff’s stubbornness. He was on top form at the weekend and had a grin from ear to ear talking bikes with everyone and playing his part in the organisation of this year’s Weekender. He will be sorely missed. Although not in mint condition at the weekender he was indeed in top form as always.
A very sad loss for the Ducati community but very much more so for you.

I lost for words.

I spoke with Geoff as we where leaving Portmirion, Geoff was full of joy as to how the weekender had been a success. Knowing I'm off to the TT this year, I was welcome to drop in for tea and biscuits on the way .

I am lucky enough to have gone nearly once round the Sun with Geoff, having met him for the first time at last years Weekender. I presented him with Best Modified Monster AND Bike of the Year trophies.
Since then he has been know in our household as that northern bloke who's always on the phone. I will now treasure the little presents he sent me from time to time, all the more.

Geoff the Weekender was a credit to you, you really went out on a high. I too will always remember your cheery wave goodbye from Port Merion as all your happy pals rode off.

Just heard the news. Very saddened to hear.. I enjoyed the stories at the Sunday meets, and glad Annabel and I were able to pop into the hotel at the weekender to see him. Condolences Paul and Babs. Not an easy time for anyone. RIP Geoff.

Geoff was always generous in spirit and in deed. He designed and had made a tail tidy for the Paul Smart belonging to Martin at Ducati Manchester.

Typical of the man - knowing I also owned a PS, he had another one made for me without prompting & refused to take any payment for it.

I decided to add a little touch & sent the resulting photos to him; I think it made him happy.

So, whenever I take the PS out, Geoff will be with me.

I'm Norwegian and Geoff was my friend. He made my first long ride to Italy happen in 2010. I've since been in the mountains, Misano and between every year. Thanks, Geoff.

From now on ... only clean and heavily modified bikes in heaven.

RIP Mr Fix It. Geoff did many good things for so many people and will be sorely missed by all who met him. Very sad to have heard about this news.
