i have also developed a soft spot for ‘The Headcat’
A few strange CDs featuring Lemmy, Slim Jim Phantom (Stray Cats) and another guy I hadn’t heard of, playing old rock’n’roll standards.

I've been trying to find a song as I've been invited to a wedding where everyone has been told that they can have a song of their choice played at the 'do' afterwards...

Current choice is The Cure, A Forest but Nivarna keeps popping up (as does Hawkwind, Metallica, Marylon Manson, Gorrilaz, Golden Earing, The Damned...) and it's a good excuse to listen to lots.

It's surprisingly difficult to choose just 1 that:

a) can be played to a granny (rules out 'Killing in the Name of' as well as a number of others)
b) most people can bop to (rules out quite a lot)
c) is a song I can listen to anytime (so down to a couple of hundred)

And now I've just found all my Black Crowes CDs...

You can't beat the Crowes! Especially the Marc Ford era stuff, but its all good! I assume you've got all the solo stuff too? Just getting into some of that CRB nonsense but its growing on me 'cos of the voice and be sure to check out The Magpie Salute too of course.

Audioslave are a recent “find” for me, but kinda fit nicely alongside Pearl Jam, Foos, etc.

Also had an older playlist on, right old mix from System of a Down to AC/DC to Linken Park, the list goes on. Probably explains my slight deafness...

Blimey - that's going back a bit! I saw them at the Windsor Great Park free festival, probably around the same time. Nice festival until Thames Valley Plods got rather heavy handed!
Perhaps 5 years later they were playing in Powis Square, London W10 one Saturday afternoon - I was working just around the corner. By all accounts they are a really decent bunch.

I listen to loads of different music - I often wonder just how much really good music passes me by just because I'm unaware of it. In no particular order I like Richard Thompson, John Martyn, The Doors, The Strokes, Beth Orton, Rory Gallagher, The Band, Dr John, Vampire Weekend, The Beatles, Ry Cooder, Little Feat, Bonnie Rait, Wilko Johnson and lots more!
