Umm! iv had the 1050 triple urrrgg na heavy no torque, s2r good fun quick wet clutch and revy , but if I had a good lump of money "Thruxton R" smooth handle well and twin grunt , there's my spanner in the works , but having said all that a nice low miles M900s mmmm yah , lol * )

Getting back on thread, I own both a S4 & a 1200r. Both are v quick in their own right.
Personally the 1200r is the ultimate monster at the moment.

The duke 790 looks great. Even better when they release the R spec.
I keep looking at the latest triumph speed twin. Very nice. Great reviews.

My dad has a 790 Duke and loves it, I've ridden it and it really is a fun bike .

You've got a road bike then so just get something that you look at think ... that's lovely/beautiful.
You've got a road bike so get something different

Pani or go retro with a classic like a standard 916 or 748 (SPS or R), only 100 or so BHP but they do have that classic raw sexy look about them. Plus they have all the extra's like fully manual traction control, manual anti wheelie control and manual ABS .. you ride the bike rather than ride the electronics, very satisfying getting it right.

Hmmm food for thought there.

possibly drifting towards a nice S4RS, there's two really low miles minters on ebay. one at 10K and one at 12K. Don't know if that's over priced.

There's another one at 15k Miles for 7.5K, than again one at 25K miles for 5.5K.

I can see the idea of a retro, pretty, special bike if it's going to be a 'weekend nice day' bike.

I shall come back with ideas soon.

I was at Triumph at the weekend. While I was there a guy picked up a sweet little Speed Twin (I say little, they are a 1200 but it's quite small in appearance). Looked and sounded very nice. Definitely on my list.

i went for the 899 more to scratch an itch really just as they are an incredibly beautiful bike but i thought the lack of trellis and belts would make it feel not a true ducati. how wrong i was. i like the beauty to compliment the beast of my m1000. I am rapidly falling more and more in love with it and is stupidly easy to ride fast. It doesnt feel like any ducati engine ive ever ridden. still feels the same as the monster with torque low down but once you get above 7000 rpm its like a turbo kicks in and is a struggle to keep the front wheel down.
The monster is still my favourite though. Not had a go on a s4rs but love the 999 engine.
