Monster 1200R is the foam needed?

Hi All,

Is the foam between tank and airbox needed on Rs or is it same as old monsters, purely for noise cancelling?

Took tank off, forgot to put it back in and just can't be bothered to do it again.

Does it not cover an ECU to reduce possible vibration?
Only half lifted an R tank, agree it’s a PITA. Will research a bit and get back to you Lukaz

I can push it back in if needed. What ever it does not sure its to reduce vibration as its basically a dishwasher sponge cloth wrapped in heat resistant material. It is loose with even tiny tank lift.

Had to get in to tank as quick release joint failed. Ducati wants you to replace entire line I have just replaced joint.

I had a look at the online parts book and
22 is described as ‘GUARD CONTROL UNIT’
27 is described as ‘DAMPER, SOUND ARRESTER’

So it's for sound only. Will not be in hurry to remove tank then.
