Colour code for M797 (White/Red/Black)
Am getting bike ('94 900ss) repainted/powder coated and want the use the colour scheme used on the M797 White/Red/Black.
However, I can't seem to find colour codes for this model/variant. Can anyone let me know what they are ? TIA, Richard |

I can't imagine you can go too far wrong with black and white.
The red will likely be Rosso or Anniversary Red. PPG made the paint for Ducati and the code is PPG 473.101 I first looked up the code for Rosso and then found the same number given for Anniversary Red. I later found exactly the same number again for colour described as Rosso Anniversary Red? When I had a can mixed by Ketts Autopaints (PPG suppliers) I was offered two barely distinguishable shades with different numbers, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. (I think Ferrari use the same Red?) PPG's UK headquarters is in Bury St Edmunds.

Do you mean M796?
The black/white/red Corse scheme was a ‘Monster Art’ kit for 696,796 & 1199, so I’m not surprised you’ve had trouble finding paint codes. Since it had to match existing frames Gaza is right about Anniversary Red (PPG473.101) however the black frames where ‘dark’ (matt) and the white bikes where a pearl white rather than flat, so I’d try PPG248.514 for the black and D753 for the white and see what the look like on your sprayers colour charts. The clear lacquer is PPG228.880 for all colours. |
