Diirrrrrr??? I solved it ,Maybe ???

The restored now repainted classic Desmo 1974 sunburst orange Monster is nearly ready ,, after Kats accident in 2018

but i have had what I thought were carb problems on rear pot ,, so new exhaust gaskests , take off carbs recheck ,, still running bad then I notice a dribble of oil on rear cyclinder ,, and found the head bolts were all loose ???? I know I torqued them up to 42 nm but they were loose ?? so i reckon thats the reason why she ws not wanting to run sweet

retourqed them tonight ,, will put the belts back on tommorow and fire it up again

also trying to find a place to mount the fully refurbished Ohlin PRCS 46 remote reservoir ????

and trying to decide which of my Cans to use the C/F Sils or The Stainless Mivvs ???

I have lots of photo on my phone but having problems downloading the to computer for uploading by postimage

It can't be any less smart than my steam-powered Windows Phone, Jerry! I presume you already have a Postimage account so just log in at the home page as normal using your phone's browser then choose "upload" from the drop down menu

Then click on "Choose images"

And you should be presented with something like this:

Just click on "Photos" and then select the pictures you want to upload. Then you can copy the links for this forum as usual.

I thought if it worked on my ancient phone, it'd work on anything. Perhaps one of our more tech-savvy members with an Android phone can walk you through it.

I originally frame mounted mine but was never happy with the look plus, the chance of damaging it if the bike fell over so I relocated it under the seat/in front of the rear wheel as, I believe Ducati did on 'S' models?

Before;

After;

Location;

Required the making of a bracket but there are suitable mounting holes on the frame, the hose is a little on the long side but careful routing makes it fit and if/when I get the shock overhauled I'll get a shorter hose fitted.

Moto Rapido would most likely be able to get you a reservoir bracket for an Sie I imagine.
Otherwise I could see if I could get in there and photograph mine and send you some dims.

Can't wait to see the pictures of your Sunburst paint job.. Is that a nod to the egg splat episode?

Bike now running after a lot of fiddling with carbs , and a dodgy exhaust stud which I replaced , now almost perfect balance and tickover just a little sticky on the cables when revved ,they are lubed and almost new but maybe a little tight on the under carb adjusters on the return cable , its cold out in garage and i have to think of neighbours when running bike and tuning so a bit at a time ..

now making a bracket to mount the ohlins remote behind shock across frame its neat and better route for hose and access to remote preload adjuster on right hand side of bike , I have a used cheap carbon hugger from i believe an s4rs with its mounts missing so im gluing over to the plastic one and it will look nice when finished .
