I have only seen the adapters from the US source, hence why I made my own to avoid the ransom.

I will be ordering some sheet material for a wardrobe within the next couple of weeks, so I'll tag some Tricoya onto that.
It won't take long to make a small batch once I have the material, but I have my fingers in a lot of pies at the moment so I won't promise anything... I reckon September would be realistic. You'll be the first to know if I manage it any earlier.

I will be supplying them in gloss lacquered Gold as pictured on the earlier posts This works well and matches the Brembo Gold on Calipers and disc centres.
Tempted to do a Satin Black version too, which will probably suit LED units?

Any unit that is sold as a replacement for a 7" lamp should fit my rings, but I can't say whether some of the LED jobbies will fit in the shell... It's suck it and see I'm afraid.

I could price up 3D printing easily enough, but I don't think that it really lends itself to 3D printing. I'm not sure that the surface finish would be brilliant?

As it happens I did some fairly exhaustive research into various plastics, including Delrin and Perspex. All were far more expensive than Tricoya. The one advantage that I though plastics would have, was the self colour and finish, but no supplier would guarantee a imperfection free surface on their sheets, which is generally fairly scratched apparently!

I could have gotten involved with flame polishing, but it all sounded rather a faff and expense, so I decided to stick with what I know. Plus I can burn the waste Tricoya in my wood burner and get a small benefit from that.

Incidentally, I carefully measured a reject ring and hung it up in an apple tree outside my workshop, in February.
It's hung there ever since in everything the weather has to throw at it, and it's still flat, circular and dimensionally the same.
That's bare Tricoya. It hasn't even weathered. Surface texture is as new, even on the edges. It looks just the same as when I hung it out.

I heard from the Rep that Tricoya and Accoya sales have tripled in the last 12 months... People seem to be learning.

Yea, I hear what you're saying Gary. I didn't think it would be ideal 3D printing, I was just trying to think of a way to take the ballache manual effort out of the process for you. What about hydro dipping instead of painting?

Good call with the Hydro-dipping. (Faux Carbon would look good) Except that it does require a special primer/base coat. so won't eliminate painting.
I'd be happy to supply them bare for folks to try their own finishes.

Interesting test in the tree, Gazza.
I was confident anyway but I'm even more so now.

I've had an adaptor fitted for about 3 months now and it has road tested well over a couple of thousand miles.
Still haven't had much chance to test the light unit though .. its hardly ever dark lately.

Thanks for posting the picture Jez.
That's proved to me that the rings will look better in Black with LED units.
Although I have a colour match for the centre console of the dash, which might be quite good?
Nights are drawing in so You'll soon get a chance to try it.

I gave mine a good test last Sunday coming home from Jeff's. 117 miles all in the dark.
I followed Jeff (with same lamp set up) across the city for a few miles, then about 10 miles of lanes. The rest was A road with sections of dual carriageway, ending with about 5 miles of lanes again.
I can confirm that this lamp (Autopal crystal with Nightbreaker bulb) is much, much safer than the original Bosch lamp... No anxious moments whatsoever. I still wouldn't mind a bit more reach on the main beam though.
Anyone trying out any different lamps?

I have another sheet of Tricoya and production is likely to commence in September.

Yeah I guess the dark, bleak black nights are on their way...

Colours? Red might work, also the frame colour is another option - but I had the black to hand and it works well for me.

If my lamp isn't bright enough, Its good to know I can upgrade to one like yours now you have given it a good test though I expect/ hope mine will be fine.

Its definitely better. I have been riding to work early am to get a good feel for it the past couple of days, but its been misty/ foggy. There seems to be a little condensation inside the light which is poor, but no the end of the world. Give me another couple of weeks, I'm off in a day or so for a week (so no early morning testing) and I will have some better info to share.
