Which service, and where? (nr Bristol)
Hi, I could do with some advice on what kind of service I need on my recently aquired Monster 695.
It's a 56 plate bike, with 7500 miles on the clock. The service book shows that it had the full cambelt service at a main dealer 18 months and 4000 miles ago. When I bought the bike 2 months and 500 miles ago I had the independent dealer do the oil and filter change and an MOT. Now that the maintenance message has come up on my clocks I should think about booking it in for a service. Question is which one? Do I need to shell out for a full cambelt service given that the last one was 18 months ago, or can I get by with a regular service (or less) given that only 4000 miles have been travelled? Obviously I want what is best for the bike, but equally don't want to splash money about that I don't really have. Seondly, as I am in Bristol I have the option of Riders (main dealer) or going to JHS or Luigi Moto, both Ducati specialists. I've heard good things about the latter two, although not sure what Luigi would charge me. Any suggestions? Cheers M |
