french and italy hotels

We're planning to ride down through france to italy this year. We'll we stopping each night in hotels and I was wondering if anyone in the club has any recommendations for bike friendly hotels. Obviously, lock up garages are a must!

I have rode to Tuscany twice, both French and Italian hotels were fantastic, every hotel I stayed at found some form of secure parking, one hotel let me park the bike in their wine store ( stayed with the bike all night, hic ),another in the owners private garage.

you will not believe how welcome you will be compared with staying in an English hotel !
