900ei speedo question

I have a 900ei with a 916 rear end so the electronic speedo has no pick up! so I have put a bracket on the front wheel! with the sensor on, but am not sure what kind of pickups I need on the wheel, Ive tried lots of magnets with no luck, does anyone know if its just the disc bolts that are the pickups!

Hold the disk on Its the 999 that has 5 I was getting confused. There's probably only 4 if its a 916 swing arm and disk, so It won't read the correct speed anyway.

There are probably six on the front though, if you can get the right air gap?

An S2R or S4R rear swing arm/hub/disk etc might have been a better option. The 916 one is probably a bit short for the monster anyway and may affect the bikes handling in a bad way, like cornering stability.

... as long as the disc bolt are ferrous, those fancy Ti bolts weigh nothing but won't trigger a Hall Effect sensor

I wonder if an S*R eccentric hub and disk will fit in a 916 swingarm, probably not but maybe worth looking into?

All the 916 bikes even up to the much later 998 still kept the mechanical speedo driven from the front wheel, maybe there was a good reason for that?
