Thumbs up Lincs. Italian Motorcycle Festival Saturday 15th June

We would like to invite Ducati enthusiasts to the Lincolnshire Italian Motorcycle Festival on Saturday 15th June. It will be the 16th edition of what has become one of the largest annual gatherings of Italian motorcycles in the UK.

Event website: www.imf2018.co.uk The event poster is now available on the site. Please feel free to share it on social media etc.

The event takes place at the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre (LAHC), East Kirkby. Their website: www.lincsaviation.co.uk

Admission charge is £8.00 per adult for those arriving on two-wheels. The event raises money for the Papworth Hospital Cystic Fibrosis Unit.

Following the growing success of this event, LAHC have asked us to hold it on a day that doesn’t clash with any of their other events. For 2019 we now have the entire Aviation Centre at our disposal.

Sammy Miller MBE is the Guest of Honour. Together with his race mechanic, John Ring, Sammy will display and demonstrate his Gilera 500cc 4-cyl and Moto Guzzi 500cc V8 Grand Prix machines. There will also be a selection of rare Italian racing motorcycles on display.

All makes of motorcycle are welcome to attend the event.

We’re now taking bookings for club and trade displays/stands. There’s no set charge for traders, the Aviation Centre just asks for a donation. Club displays/stands are free. If you would like to book space, please use the contact page on www.imf2018.co.uk or reply via this topic.

I'm sure we could sort something out Geoff..

A Monster stand would be just the ticket. This is a damn good show and where I first met Grumpy and Utopia a few years back, when the club had a stand there.

Ideal location for a North/South meet up too.

Sounds like a plan!
Been to this event at least five times, great day out in a historic location.
As for Sammy Miller being present, you have to go if only to see and hear the Moto Guzzi V8 from his museum run. This against the back drop of a Lancaster and now the mosquito being restored on site, what a day out.

Count me in too.
Its just a couple of weeks after our weekender so we can use that as a springboard.
Maybe even draft in some extra attendees too.
It would be good to have a dedicated club stand this time, after us all getting dispersed a bit last year.

Would be great if yourself and maybe some more of the notherners could make it down, Geoff.

BRD has already asked me to join his group so if I'm firing on both cylinders I'll hopefully make the trip 'fingers crossed".

Sounds interesting and definitely worth exploring the possibility of a northern group ride

It does sound interesting, but it’s probably quicker to go to Widnes if you just want to meet the Northern Mob!

Northern territories

Hey up Darkness,

Absolutely! All are welcome at anytime of year, don't just wait for the weekender

As you have seen over the last 18 months our meeting place of choice is the lockgate coffee house at beeston which is a great starting point for many ride outs plus we get to support Laura who is making a decent job of her venture.

Gazza and I have briefly touched on the idea of a north / south regional get together and this event seems to be an ideal focal point but it's not exclusive so anytime anyone is heading this way please give us a shout, the tea and butties are on me !

Thanks Moco. I’ll keep that kind invitation in mind.
I haven’t been through your neck of the woods since I finished working in Warrington a couple of years ago, but The Lakes are calling, so maybe in the Spring?

Met Capo today and spoke about his canopy, which he is hoping to take there the day before the show.

Also spoke to Chris and booked our stand.. The first club to book, he tells me.
We have space for unlimited Monsters and a prime position, being the first to book.
Stand should be set up by 9.45am latest. Show starts at 10am.. Obviously bikes will add to the stand as the morning rolls on, especially those with long journeys. ( Although I have a 2 hour ride, it's still not a rudely early start.)

We'll be coming over for this one. Will plan to stay nearby the night before I think. Sounds good, never been before.

Guys

We were over at the Aviation Centre yesterday for an event. Before we left, we had a meeting to discuss the layout and format of the event on the 15th June.

It was agreed that UKMOC will have their stand/display adjacent to the NAAFI in a prime position. As Ducati Monster riders enter the Centre they'll ride straight ahead directly to your area. You can have an unlimited number of machines on display.
