Seat unit to fibreglass and the new exhaust system and paint to do then MOT hopefully as said before if allowed to spend a further couple of grand to finish it. Hopefully done by May.

Slob, No black tank, front mudguard and seat unit in Ducati Black but with stripe and lettering in matching orange. I would have been easier to buy a KTM but then it wouldn’t be mine

Sorry to ask so many questions but I want to switch my forks too. I want Maxton but wold rather spend less, maybe those are the answer for me too? Great initiative marrying your bank manager!

The forks are from a Ducati 1098 I have had them rebuilt by JWR in Louth and also had them Cerakoted. They have replaced a set of 999 forks but wanted radial callipers so had to go more modern. Only issues are you need new triple clamps or the upper bored out and the bottom sleeved. Doubtful Maxton would be more expensive than what these have cost total spend in the realm of £1700-00 with callipers but it was what I wanted. Only issue is I may have to reduce the spring rate due to the difference in weight of the 1098 and my monster.

Can I take it that the 999 forks were not that great on a Monster?

Maxton Quote
A couple of weeks ago I got a quote for Maxton front fork cartridges fitted at a cost of cost £996 complete including VAT. (SD25's). They do a pair that are about £200 cheaper but with internal pre-load adjustment.

The 999 forks were great once they had been to KTech and had the spring rate reduced from 11 to 9 which allowed the suspension to work as before it was like riding a Jack hammer.

Omar, may be worth talking to James at JWR at Louth he’s a Showa agent and very good at what he does.
