Bad news and Good News

The bad news, for Ducati traditionalists at least, is that, on top of the rumoured switch from a trellis frame on the new Monster (project 1803), the new V4 Multistrada "Granturismo" engine does away with desmodromic valves in favour of a conventional valve train.

The good news is that maintenance intervals will be over 40k miles, which is pretty impressive.

I wonder if the new Monster will go down the traditional valve train route?
