Manchester and North West 2021

Well a happy and healthy new year to one and all, it’s at this time of year I post up about monthly meet dates , possible ride outs ,events etc. For obvious reasons( unless your name is rip van winkle ) there are no specific plans at the moment...none.....zilch...zero....nada....niente.

This is a sad situation we are in but everyone is in the same position.as soon as there is a sign of this thing being contained and restrictions lifting we can get organising.

There is of course a certain event in the lakes mid year that I am not mentioning as I don’t want to tempt fate !!!

I have been in touch with Laura and the good news is she is still in the mix and is opening for take always only on tuesday. I honestly can’t see a monthly meet this side of Easter but watch this space and what’s app of course for any developments.

Stay safe and healthy, hopefully the next meet will be sooner rather than later,

I am afraid you are spot on Darren, I think it won’t be the last event to br cancelled either. People are very wary of these new strains of virus and the rate of spread. Fingers crossed for the vaccine roll out, it’s a start ,

It’s cold up north !

Slowly but surely we are up and running once again, just three of us, 4 degrees and grit on just about every road we went on! Destination Jodrell bank, which of course was closed but that was the intention,to go somewhere quiet. Coffee at a garden nursery on the way home.......now to get all the salt off the bike.

Good to be back, thanks Chris and Adie for your company, hope it’s warmer next week

Ah. one of my first jobs was at a local Radar station, washing the dishes.

Nobody told me how big they were!

....... sadly there is a tale to tell there Darren, it cut out on Adie, he had to go home to collect his van to take it back again. He thinks fuel pump, the great and the good from up here are currently ( no pun intended)brain storming to suss the issue......relay is the thought...

Sorry to hear that. Every ride out is still an experience, should be a Ducati tag line.. Much like the making mechanics out of riders one from the '80's?

'80s ... If Harley-Davidson made aeroplanes, would YOU fly in one?

Thanks Rob, the guys have got to that point already ,Stevedesmo has had the same issue in the past ( I refer to your link rather than flying HD planes ) I think they are working through the relays to find what’s wrong by a process of elimination!

just as you thought it couldnt get any worse !

Thanks to a drive by spot by Adie earlier in the week I got in touch with the Lockgate.... poor Laura !! They are closed due to flooding and wont be open any time soon. I have attached an extract from her mail to me , I will have a head scratch regarding a temporary home for us as things return to....... normal ish .

We flooded on Jan 21st. Two months worth of rain in two hours. The canal also breached it's bank further along as a result. Lockgate was full of canal water up to a third up the walls, all round. We've still got dehumidifiers in at the moment, they are due to be in until the end of April, then I've got a full kitchen refit and refurb on my hands. I'm really hoping we can be open for July. But at the moment I have very little to go on for a more precise date. Very frustrating. As soon as I have a date I will of course be in touch.

Watch this space for news,
