sorry if this is turning into a bit of a thread hijack.
the key is if you’re not melting the parent metal, it’s brazing (or even more vaguely hard soldering below a certain temperature)
if you’re melting the parent metal, it’s welding

I race (when I am able) with a chap who bought his Cotton Telstar brand new in 1965 (picked it up January '66 I think) and still races it and is still bloody quick!!

I've not long had a Birthday so the combined age of my little Ducati racer and me is over one hundred now- scary stuff!!

Nice Photo, have you had to fit an Oil Catch Pan yet, I know some clubs (CRMC) are insisting on them now, even for parade bike.

I should have mine finished in the next week or so.

Yes it is in the CRMC regulations to fit a catch tray, I haven't fitted one yet as I've not raced since they were introduced on the solos, sidecars have had to have an under-tray fitted for a few seasons now.

Quite annoying as the little singles run pretty hot at the best of times (note cooling fins on the sump) and the fitting of more plastics only makes it worse.

Looking forward to seeing the pics (you need to use a third party host site like Post Image) of your creation and hopefully will make it up to Doningtion for the Classic meet too.

Thanks for that, I think that you must have seen the Tab 2 Classics Facebook, I don't have one.
The Tank is indeed the work of a real craftsman, in fact craftswoman, the main fabricator is the daughter of the founder of the company.
I went to them with photos of my Monster and a TT2, with the brief make it a close as you can to that look.
I think it works, top is basically TT1 and sides Rob North Trident, it holds 14 lits.

What is the thing mounted on the top yoke with a cable just in front of the ignition switch?

Its the Throttle advance cable (Some would call it the choke) was originally in the left handlebar switch
