Near on 22 and needing some TLC

It's been a while since I posted on 'ere such forum.

Well, here's an update for 2014. After passing her medical in February, she's been barely used again this year, but then again she has nearly done 2000 miles this year, which is not bad seeing as the last two years, she covered a massive 170 miles!

Plans are now forming about sorting out the front wheel. A stand is being built at work, so I get the wheel out and strip off the crappy paint / powder coat and get the wheel sanded down, and resprayed. New chain and sprockets acquired, I just need to get hold of some belts and a new rear tyre and jobs a good 'un

"It's a deal, it's a steal, it's sale of the f*****g century"

Could I make it through the window?

Out with the commoners at Brooklands Musuem

That smoke is nothing to do with me!

And to top it all, I finally started going through the file I was handed when I bought the Monster back in 2006.

Hong Kong Monster anyone?

....Might be wrong, but I think that's actually a Kestrel.

Nice to see an older Monster in such good nick...My first Triumph was about 21 years old when I bought it...Not quite in the same ball park..!!

Isn't there a bin in the top piccie next to the door, plus he has a bridge and rev counter that reads negative RPM!

No it's a bollard, half a bridge and the rev counter is reading 15k. Obviously ready to drop the clutch as soon as the gates open.

Reckon that first reg date is not right, if it was registered in June 93 it would be on a K plate, not an L. The L reg was August 1st onwards

I'm going for the option that the DVLA, HMRC, VOSA (or what ever they were called back in 1997 when the bike arrived back at Felixstowe), have no idea about what they are doing.... Oh, they still don't know what they are doing

It's a Hawker P.1127 XP984 (6th prototype), from 1963.

According to the blurb on Wikipedia...

"The last of the six P.1127 prototypes (XP984) and the only one with a swept wing, later converted to the first Kestrel prototype with Pegasus 5 engine."
