Keys etc., Needed for immobilsers on Monsters

On the Monsters, 900's, 1000's etc., the ones starting about 2000 with the twin clocks, could someone tell me what should come with the bike regarding keys and a code card?, should they have a red key or just a couple of black keys?

Cheers

Thanks Steve.

Around what year would immobilisers start to be fitted?, something sticks in my mind about chips in the keys. I am considering looking at a 2004 1000DS and want to be sure it has everything it should have on the keys and card front.

This is from the 2004 M1000 manual:

Stevie's is one of the last non-immobiliser ECUs and the same as my 2000 M900.
The more advanced (complicated) ECU came along later in 2002 when everything went electronic including the speedo.
As Luddite points out, a 2004 will definitely be all electronic with immobiliser and needs the red key and code card.

The early simple ECU has less idiot lights on the dash and the oil pressure warning light is in the rev-counter.

Ok, guys, thank you very much, much appreciated.

Up to 2002 simple and onwards more complicated with red key and cards.

Actually..... For the sake of completeness/accuracy for anyone else searching, my S4 came with transponder keys (1 red, 2 black) and a keycard. And the immobilizer, of course.

It's registered as 2002 - but unlike a 2002, it does not have LCD panels in the speedo/tach, which are entirely analog like 00-01 M900s (and oil warning is in the dash - red light in the tach is the code/immobilizer).

Pretty sure it's a late-registered 2001 production.

Certainly the 2001 S4's had the antenna/red key/immobilizer malarky going on according to the factory workshop manual and the handbook.
