Those rubber holders tend to have flat terminals within, while the metal ones are a bayonet fit. The bulbs are different, of course.

By the way, are you considering an LED H4 bulb? After much experimentation, I've found an affordable type that permits the vital rotation in its socket that gives a decent beam pattern. Most don't have that feature. The only drawback with the one I'm describing is that the socket doesn't have the D-shaped base that Bosch headlamps, in particular, need to seat it in the housing. Some housings don't require the flat on one side. I just cut the alloy base back... I'll sort out details if you are interested.
