Looks very pretty. I wonder what they’ve done to make it lighter, apart from reducing the cylinder barrel thickness?

Well the standard exhaust system on those weighs a ton, so losing that will make a big difference.

I usually only post the really horrible/ugly or ratty ones, but that one is so nice I just had to. And if Neil has been through it and done the tuning, it will run really well too.

Rather pretty bike!

Like everyone else I'd like to know where the weight loss came from though!

So they are claiming 165Kgs net.

I don't have data for 2006 bikes, but the weight I'm seeing for a 2002 M900 is 189kgs, which can't be that different to a 2006 M900. Id say a 2006 bike was heavier if anything.

As people have said, a 24Kg weight saving is a lot on something so simple in the first place.

The seat unit looks as though it could be saving @5kgs, but apart from that I can't see it.

Are they the standard wheels?
it's the only other place that a significant saving could be made.

Capo shaved 40kg off his S4R over the years, that's about 6 stone or several thousand pounds!

Love that, don't know if I could live with the brown paint though, even if it is metallic

The intaweb says the standard S2R 1000 has a dry weight of 178 Kg, so a half tank of fuel and the engine oil would add about 12 Kg, giving a wet weight of 190 Kg. That’s pretty spot on your estimate Nasher.

A bit of carbon fibre and chopping the teatray off helps reduce weight, but adding a half fairing and support frame must have put it all back on, even if the tubes are Helium filled!

Getting rid of the flywheel could lose some more (If they did), as would some seriously lightweight wheels. Those look like standard Marchesini to me with fresh powder coating though?

Still think it looks pretty though!

I could see you losing another 4 Kg with a single can exhaust and custom seat Rob, but that fairing has to weigh quite a bit?

Perhaps we can persuade the new owner to reveal all when it sells?
