Bought mine for 750 quid from a guy in Bristol who needed to fund sails for his yacht... sold it to Ian Smail, a Ducati mechanic, also in Bristol, for 1100 quid, after he gave me a big sob story about just having had a child and having no money but really wanting the bike... He sold it on the next week, of course... sold a 350 single for the same money, don't even want to know what my Darmah would fetch now...

Very nice, a bit rich for me though.

I had a '68 250 Scrambler many years ago, when the big ends went I gave it away.

Hindsight eh...?

Nice one. It's a nice bike. Maybe buy a couple of cheap 748/916/996 or Monsters to flip? You know the whole classic bike thing really annoys me a bit because there is no way that bike is worth 22k, a 900SS maybe but even so that's a stretch if you compare what other bikes you could get for that money, you've got to really want one but even so you sold it so it sets a precedent. Seeing some of the prices some bikes are fetching now (CX500, ok I didn't have one but I didn't want one either then or now) makes me wish I hadn't sold any of the crappy bikes I had in the past!

That was quite modest for a 750GT, I've seen them up for £36000

Yes, had seen those . I only had a small share in this one, but still a nice little bit of profit . A motorcycle broker bought it for a client of his .
