New Guy :)
Thought I'd start properly and say hi
So about me .... Been looking to get back into bikes after couple of years off and found myself in Ducati store near Wolverhampton....loved the look of monster 1100 evo and after test ride on Friday I am hooked. Heart says buy buy buy but head says wait until it warms up in new year lol Think ill look for a good late used one and save about 1k ... But still trying to convince myself to wait for few months lol Steve |

Hi and welcome to the Club.
Ducati Wolverhampton are really friendly and helpful. You may be able to haggle down as it gets colder and then spend the winter hiding in the Man Cave waiting for the salt to finally go away. Look out for the post for the Annual Weekender only down the road south of Redditch.

Hi from another EVO owner... It's a great bike. You can't go wrong with it... There were no used ones when I was looking to buy (but there are a handful of used ones around at the moment), but I got a good deal on my part-ex, so buying a new one seemed to make sense...

It is a great bike. There is a used red EVO at Moto Rapido - Ducati dealer in Winchester, but it is £7999 so not a huge saving from new.
It might be worth looking for an M1100S, which is also a great bike.

Thanks for the welcome...I've seen the one for £7995 but a demo bike with >2K miles is not for me I don't think and my head is still saying wait
Saw a black Evo in St Neots which seems a better offer but I am after the faster red one ... |

The 1100 Evo is definitely better than the 1100S, so you're quite sensible to wait till the weather improves to pick one up, but then the other buyers will be looking too and there might not be that many of them around.
Welcome to the club and I hope you find the right bike in the end.

Ha good joke! It is a shame you are wrong! The black one is obviously faster and more attractive

Hello.
If you buy with your head, wait 'til Spring and get a black one. If you buy with your heart, get a red one tomorrow and if you want to see how fast the red one goes, chase the woman on the black one. Last edited by Small Clanger; 24-10-2011 at 08:22 PM.. |

Rally,
1) Albie told me 2) Having DTC, I see the Evo as better equipped 3) Can't think of anything for No. 3, but I'm sure there's something else

I think they are both great bikes myself, but it comes down to better suspension and letting the rider do the thinking on the 'S', or having the ABS etc on the Evo. Being someone who likes to decide myself what I want the brakes and traction to do, I'd choose the 'S' everytime, as I did after trying both.
It's nice to have the choice though. Good luck in your search Steve. Last edited by Rally; 25-10-2011 at 09:32 AM.. |
