Again sorry for the late posting of this!
We're trying to get back to our old routine of meeting on the second Sunday of the month.

Gremlin has kindly suggested meeting at Jimmy's café on Old Buckenham airfield, So;

Jimmy's Café, 10am, Sunday 10th October.

Let's hope we can sit outside on the benches that they have "airside" and see if anyone is venturing out in their aeroplanes?

New faces always welcome, come and see us.

Well it started to drizzle as I set off and continued to do so all the way to Old Buckenham.
We all had pretty miserable rides in. Richard even decided to turn back after setting off, the tyres on his brand new Enfield are giving him no confidence whatsoever in the wet and so he averted the anxiety and the possibility of a slip.
It was the worst sort of wet, with the droplets still beaded on the surface and not running, yet enough to wet my trousers and make my jacket very heavy!

Still we had a good turnout with Gremlin and Andy, Dacs, Frances and furthest travelled DaveR.

It did clear out as we were heading home and a few light planes took advantage of the weather.. Always a good sign if they are flying, as they get better weather reports than us mortals.
The North-West were meeting at the same time as us, so we exchanged photos of our meets.. Aint that quaint? hopefully the pictures will be posted later.

Looking forward to seeing you next time.. DaveR has suggested the Lotus museum at Hethel.

Hi there yet another meet i couldn't make .. clashed with the HDRCGB Harley swap meet at Woolpit which i really enjoy but the Lotus Museum visit does sound rather extra special so would really try to make that if its a go'er ..hope to catch up with you all soon.

I'm in holiday in Croatia,so couldn't make the meet.
The Lotus museum sounds a good idea for a day out.

Oh OK then, picture of Jimmy's - named for James Stewart, who was the first Operations Officer for the USAAF 453rd Bomb Group when they flew from Old Buckenham during the mid 1940s.

It seems we've got the wrong end of the stick regarding a Lotus Museum.
Apparently they have a "Heritage Collection" which they keep running and display at events. They generously offer tours of the factory and collection @ £50 per head for groups of no more than 20.. Probably better to save the fifty quid to pay the ransom for Grumpy?

I may re-investigate the Tank museum near Tasburgh? Such a shame our 2020 calendar was smashed, perhaps we should try and re-visit that next year?

I was in your neck of the woods a couple of weeks back and passed a lowloader with a WW1 tank on it, I was quite surprised.

Hadn’t realised they were quite so far behind the times there that the MK 4 heavy tanks are only just being delivered!
