so you're still left with Norwich Union/Equity Red Star etc. etc. as underwriters

I'm with ebike as they out quoted Ducati but will hunt around when it's next due and does anyone do rider policies anymore??

In the past I've used Motorcycle direct( Loyds), Quoteline direct (Zenith ) and Carole Nash( Royal & Sun alliance)

Thats pretty much what I suspected. So I'll do some research into who these companies are, and I'll get my business team to approach them.
Hopefully we should get some good names. (I'm hoping to get Ramisis as they seem to have a good panel of names).

Just to let you all know, We are about to add 'Performance Direct' and 'Hastings' to our panel of insurers (As soon as I finish testing them!).

I take back what I said about Ducati Insurance...I think

I've just discovered by talking to a friend who has recently had a very serious motorcycle accident and who is also insured with Ducati Insurance/Wicked Quotes/Ramasis.

The bike is written off and they've given him a good figure for the bike, so that bit is great although it's taken nearly 2 months for him to get the money; however he is badly facially scarred for life now and his face is mainly made up of metal plates - not nice

Anyway, he's wanting to sue the woman who caused the accident and claim loss of earnings etc and Ducati have told him that they do not offer legal cover on their policies, but he could pay Keystone (sheet of paper that comes with your certificate) a one-off fee of £30 plus all his solicitors cost and they'll deal with his claim but they'd also take 5% of whatever he is awarded

After checking out his options he's decided to simply find one of these 'no win no fee' solicitors who are going to start court proceedings.

My insurance is due for renewal tomorrow and I'm seriously going to have another look around online tonight as I'd rather pay that little bit extra and have complete peace of mind tbh

Chappers, Yes I have had dealings with Keystone and all they are after is their cut. When a so called legal expensives company starts talking about %s of the claim then I start asking pointed questions and will not sign any paper work.

I ended up dealing with my wifes firm to look into a matter instead and they agread that keystone were on very edgy ground.

But until I have got a couple of years away from my claims I am a little stuck with who I can choose.

Right...

After surfing the net all last night and on my lunch today I've finally got myself re-insured

Ebike = £294 (excess £200)
Carole Nash = £248.34 (excess £500)
Bennetts = £349.52 (excess £350)

Winner - Ducati Insurance = £205.00 (excess £350)

After spending just short of an hour on the phone with Ducati Insurance expressing my concern over Legal Cover and Breakdown they have put my mind at rest...I hope

£205 includes legal cover, foreign use for upto 30 days and homestart breakdown.

Hayley, so come on what did they say. My gist was as soon as it involves PI they want a % of takings as they are not a legal company themselves.
