Near miss !

Well, what can we say........guys,really great to catch up with you all,James,Richard,Jeff and Gazza.....lots of positive discussion ,great breakfast and lots of criac!:biggrin

Such a shame about the museum, so near yet so far !,didn't see that coming....so due to weather all visitors turned up in cars, car parks got full and the overflow car park was flooded so no one could get in.......

Still,we had a decent meet up, hope everyone got back ok.....Mark and I went up the A41 again ,still a lot of standing water but rain stopped around 4 o'clock.

Until next time ...

Not the day out expected!
As Mike mentioned, the museum was a bust, but we 're-grouped to a localish cafe for carbs and coffee.
Great to catch up with everyone, lots of chat with good banter.
Till next time

When I use the words disaster and unmitigated in the same sentence you know it's not going to be good news.

Jeff and I sat in the car for fecin' ages within sight of the museum. Happily mobile phones and a satnav sorted the situation out and as outlined above, Grumpy found a seedy, but friendly transport Café, so our meeting eventually happened and good business was done.
Great to see the gang again, but what a cock up... I think I will always remember this as the Zombie Apocalypse meeting!!

I wondered if you managed to get in Roger, but clearly not! again, what a cock up!

I'm extremely unhappy with the National Motorcycle Museum about all this. I rang them up nearly two weeks ago to check out their overspill parking plans, and was assured that they had plenty of capacity with two overspill carparks and had never had problems in the past.
If I could see this coming why couldn't they? We all knew what the weather forecast was for many days ahead of the event. It was obvious that cars would be far outnumbering bikes. Their planning and bad weather contingencies have been abysmal today... Traffic management outside the site was non-existent. The entire staff should be simultaneously and vigorously spanked until they are turning from pink to red..... Unmitigated disaster.... Hang your head in shame NMM.

One of the people i went up with on yesterdays disaster emailed the museum & they gave us all free passes to be used whenever....which i suppose goes some way in saying 'sorry our fault ' so give it ago .could be useful for a national meet up sometime next year....
hope this helps

Thanks for a more constructive idea Roger. Although I still think the spanking would be fun.
I will try the email route, as funnily enough Jeff and I did discuss the idea of a club run out to the Museum next year, as we splashed our way home.

Would you believe it? Ten free passes dropped through the letterbox this morning.

I have pm'ed all those who tried to get in last Saturday to see if they all want their passes. If not there might be some spares going.
I have a vague notion of a club ride out to the Museum next Summer, so they could come in handy for that.
