Has anybody ever
…owned or ridden a 1199 Panigale?
If so what are they like? I imagine brutal and uncomfortable beasts! I’m going to go have a look at one with a view to buying it if I like it. Just wondering what the thoughts are on here. |

A chap i work with has had his for a year or so. It’s non ‘s’ version and he loves it. His previous bike was a ktm rc8. He says this pani is a revelation in comparison.
One feature he likes is the ability to alter the amount of engine braking making it a lot less tiresome and smoother. He’s not the tallest, but still managers it on tip toes! He does track days aswell and says it’s very competent Last edited by damien666; 20-07-2020 at 09:49 PM.. |

ive got the 899. i do love it and is surprisingly comfortable. not monster standards but good for a sportbike. as damien says after riding an '03 monster the tech on the bike is mind blowing and actually starts to spoil you a bit.
They are stunning machines though. i think the 1299 and the v4's lost some of the looks and got a bit bloated for the v4 |

Strangely enough I've been looking at them myself lately as they've popped into the price range I consider sensible for a used bike.
Have yet to ride one, but have decided to save up for another few months and maybe buy something a little newer than what I could afford now. Or possibly an S instead of a non-S Nasher.

Going to view on Friday….keeping the 1100 Evo too obviously…it’s a nice abs version (non-s tho so little more basic).
Couple issues with it tho most annoying is the fairing bolts are now gold instead of factory black…I do not like gold nuts and bolts. And the wheels have been powder coated gold instead of factory original black…the wheels look nice tho. |

Good luck with the ride.
My problem is going to be that the 1200 Enduro Multistrada has also dropped down into the same bracket, and if I decide to spend the money I will struggle to choose which as they are obviously so different. I know I'd get more use from the Enduro, but really fancy a Pani. Nasher.

Rode one briefly once and the thing I remember the most is the heat from the exhaust roasting your backside.

The earlier ones had the exhaust in the lower fairing. That's probably the best looking one too.

Are you thinking of the 1198 with under seat pipes?
The 1199 is under the engine…they do run hot tho apparently. |
