M900 Termi Repacking

Morning All,

Would anyone be able to recommend some good repacking material for the low mount termis? And does anyone know how much to get for both exhausts?

I've read it's also a good idea to wrap in aluminium tape before putting back in the sleeves to add a bit more heat protection for the carbon?

Hi Ross, I've re-packed a few exhaust cans and am a big fan of Acousta-Fil as it's really easy to use and you just need to measure the length of the can to know how much to use.

I would certainly recommend using a heat barrier for Carbon cans but an adhesive foil (rather than a cloth type) stuck on the inside of the can as the Acousta-Fill needs to be put in loose as it expands from the heat to fill the can.

Does anyone know if the carbon Termis have a foil backing originally from standard? I guess we can find out soon enough!

Thanks guys, that's exactly what I needed to know.
Acousta-fil it is.

Darren they have no foil backing from standard, but this is something I'll be doing to try and prevent the carbon yellowing.

No, they just use a couple of strips of paper masking tape (presumably because it's cheap?) to hold it together during assembly.

Aluminium (plumbers) tape does a great job of holding the package together and makes the whole thing 'formable' to help insert it into the can without it snagging on the carbon.

Plus it adds another layer of heat protection to the carbon if/when the packaging blows out.

Here are a couple of pics of it being stripped down. This particular one was blown, so it'll be getting a new sleeve.

There's not much to them really!

Also, as per Flip's ebay link, you'll want 400mm wide material for these exhausts by the looks of it. This will give some extra to trim off and ensure ifs fully packed. Flip, do you know if one or two 1m lengths is required for both exhausts?

If I remember correctly for my FBF cans I used a little under 1m per can but it will vary some with different make cans.
