The correct early decal (whether original [43310281A] or repro) doesn't seem to be around anymore.



But the later (1998 on? [43310281C]) is still available.



I think the higher lines represent about 250ml over the earlier sticker.

I'm not sure I get your logic.
It looks to me that the later levels are lower than the original ?

The later levels are the higher ones. Stein Dinse still list the later part for M900 ‘98 onwards.

Thanks Darkness, I'll definitely put the sticker where you and Albie have mentioned.

I think I have some early smaller coffin master cylinders if anyone is interested, I replaced them with new ones as the rubber boots aren't in great nick and I didn't have the time or patience to strip them down. I think I also have a rear master cylinder with a 93 date stamp on it.

On a separate note, would anyone know how much the DP carbon dashes are worth with the digital tacho and a speedometer? I have a couple of these that I might look to part with.

The top one here is later version



This one below is early Monster and Ducati SS and 916



Look out on ebay for Ducati SS and 916 clutch casings if you need a plate.
Or you could buy another and repaint the black out and scrape back the black in the right place. Neatly of course.

I know I have a replacement to go on my engine soon but not sure which one, do you think the oil quantity between the two will make any difference?

Well spotted, Albie and Darkness, I was just testing you!

The part numbers were right but I got my pictures the wrong way round. Original post now corrected.

What year is yours?

If it's an early one and you fit the later sticker with the higher lines, then just treat the bottom edge of the decal as the minimum and the maximum mark will be about in line with the bottom of the word Max.

What you wouldn't want to do is to top up an early bike to the later Max line as that would be over-filled.

Looking at the 916 cover posted on ebay, it shows that the MAX line corresponds to the middle of the sight glass so this is what I am working to on my early Monster until such time as a sticker turns up. You never know.

They are not stickers. Aluminium plates. Screen printed . They usually have dents or gouged in them or faded. Hence why i ended up getting another. It was faded out and went missing when somebody offered to repaint it. If you want stickers contact these people. They are friendly and replicated my original number plate dealers on to a decal.

I was wondering the same thing actually. I don't think the changed the crankcases.
