jammed up exhaust pipe

took the exhaust down pipes of the italian flag 1997 700 monster i bought last year ,, as i want it to be polished only problem is the rear down pipe is seized to the front pipe ,, was a real wrestle to get off ,the clamp came off easy , now on work bench in the vice it wont budge even with oxy heat , penetrating oil, big hammers , pipe wrenches ,, massive weight ,, it seems that its welded together somehow ??

The two parts are corroded together, the stainless pipe is not the best quality stainless. I think I would try some brick cleaner (hydrochloric acid I think) trickled into the joint, it should not damage the stainless but will attack the corrosion.
If you are unsure try dropping a rusty bolt into some brick cleaner and after about 15 minutes it comes up like new. Obviously you should also try a stainless bolt to see if it damages it.
I think the acid will dissolve the corrosion and then with some diesel/acetone mix or plus gas or similar that should lubricate it sufficiently for it to move.
Also I have found using rotational force initially is more likely to break the corrosion bond.

Much has been mentioned on Harpic 10X for cleaning stainless pipes so maybe if you have some handy you could try soaking in that? That is unless you have brick cleaner in stock?

I think the strap line is auto based on number of posts made. Mine's the same typo.

Good old malt vinegar is diluted acetic acid, will be a lot safer to use than hydrochloric and most kitchen cupboards have a bottle, particularly effective when you have alloy and steel components corroded together but well worth a try, atb S.

Both brick cleaner and Harpic contain hydrochloric acid; 10-20% for brick cleaner and 10-30% for Harpic.
