I like that bracket, Daniel, it puts the reservoir in about the same place as I had mine, but is much neater than the hose clips I used. Looks like the bracket also holds the preload adjuster, which is a nice touch.

I don't know about Bitubo fork kits but Billy has just fitted Andreani cartridges to his 796. You could ask his opinion of them once he's tried them next week.

As far as I can tell Andreani don’t make a kit for the S4R. I couldn’t find one anyway.

Did you notice Andreani list a fork kit for S4R?
code: KFORK022
Might be worth asking for a copy of the install instructions to see what’s involved

edit:removed fork list as not 100% sure now

That's a shame - I know they have a cartridge kit for the S2R.

I did wonder if the S2R kit would fit.

I rechecked and AFAIK the forks are basically the same apart from TiN coating on some, Andeani list a different fork kit for S2R1000 (KFORK028) but that may just reflect the weight difference. Ask Andreani I guess.

They do these piston kits for the S4: -

Its the same fork as the S4R and some others too.

Andreani got back to me and confirmed they do a Misano kit for the S4R. So that’s next on my list got so many new sparkly bits to fit already

Got this fitted but the fitting for the hose to the reservoir is fouling on the rectifier/ breather, tried spinning the shock round so the fitting faces forward but also
Doesn’t fit.

Is the breather that the hose bolt pushes against just a hollow plastic box? Could you soften the problem area with a hot air gun and then form a depression/dimple to accommodate the offending fitting. Cover the surrounding area with foil just leaving a hole where you want to soften, then apply pressure with, say, a round-ended screwdriver handle to make a dent.

I raised the breather box with spacers (stack of washers?) to make room for the fittings.

The supplied bracket for the reservoir broke and I found the reservoir bouncing between wheel, swingarm and chain. It's now mounted to the frame with zip ties. Just a heads up.

One of BiTubo's 'specialities' is the rebound damping. On several models the rebound is almost stuck and the adjustment range goes from stuck to slooow instead of slow to fast. If your bike can't be adjusted to correct rebound - remove shock and return it for a rebuild.

Don’t suppose you have hi level exhausts? I’m struggling to find a place to mount it.

Shot gun, both on my right side, so more than one option for me.

There was a 900 S-model (late 90s?) with a reservoir on a home-made looking bracket, mounted across somewhere near the swing arm (IIRC). All stock. Can you mount it on the swing arm perhaps?

See post #12, 13 and 14 by DD and Luddite for the M900S Ohlins bracket option. I don't think the bracket is available now but you may be able to mount it using 2 rubber lined p-clips of the correct diameter?
