Ducati varied disc offsets on some models 10mm is most common on older SBK and Monsters but some of the later SBK (999 and maybe others) I think used 5mm offset discs.

I think it’s 15mm on SBK and Monsters with Ohlins forks.

edit: the disks will be off centre by 5mm in each caliper if it’s a problem

Yea, could be 5mm out and could fit possibly but not useable and I doubt if 10mm out you would be able to get the calipers on the discs! Maybe a good excuse for disc and Ohlins fork upgrade?

Looks like your fine then. You have to learn about things are not always plug and play on different bikes or models. Especially important things like brakes. Even car wheels dont fit certain models because of disc size offset and size of calipers.
Hope you dont have to do a thing that way others can also benefit.

Yea, and it also demonstrates how far Ducati have diluted the 'Monster' naked SBK philosphy brand over the years. I mean I can put the wheels or discs from my SBK on the Monster or vice versa no problems. Ohlins might be more work but the the aftermarket triples I have on the Monster mean I can fit Ohlins forks should I wish to or be able to afford/justify them.

Ohlins forks on S4 is difficult, you’d need 15mm offset, 6 hole mounted disks which AFAIK is only 998R. Every other Ducati with 15mm offset discs has a 5 hole mounting, which is much easier to find.

It should be fairly obvious if they’re 5mm out when you look at them through the ~25mm slot in the top of a caliper. I’m not as familiar with 696/796/1100 specs, they may not have the same differences.

edit: since you won’t have monobloc calipers it’ll be really obvious, the centre line of the disc should be lined up with the join running down the caliper.

S4RS parts should do the job, not that I'm planning to any time soon. It is a minefield though swapping wheels/forks etc.

Wow, thanks guys. So much knowledge as usual on here. I've taken the wheel back out now to have tyres fitted tomorrow morning. I'll put it all back together and see how it all lines up and how it feels. Had to push the pads back to get the calipers off, but they came off easy enough. I think it should all be OK.

Had the tyres swapped over and fitted the new wheels today . I think they look great, although I am obviously biased !








So desperate to get out for a ride to see what the gearing change and wheels feel like .

Very nice, Colin From the photos, the wheel colour looks quite a good match with the crankcases.

I'm sure you'll notice a difference in agility - just don't steer it into the kerb at the first roundabout!
