Bikesafe

Right, listen up this is an opportunity not to be missed:

We have the opportunity to do a Bikesafe weekend, run by the boys in blue ( that's police NOT Everton fans ), we need 10 to 12 people.

Held in the Wirral at the Emergency Service Unit, Seacombe we get Saturday morning in the classroom, a one to one assessment to Denbeigh and then on the Sunday a full days ride with IAM Instructors with food laid on, how good does that sound?, well how about £30.00 a head...................... now it sounds even better, its a steal ( oooops sorry Officer ).
Big thanks to Tim who has got this set up, please consider this, it sounds like £30.00 well spent, list starting below, I for one am in.

You guys just cannot miss out on this. It sounds like a real treat. Especially at only £30.

I've been on two Police Safe Rider courses at £50 a time and regard it as cheap at twice the price.

You will learn and enjoy in equal measure.

Hello Mike.
It sounds like a similar kind of thing to Safe Rider, I guess the different authorities have their own name and take on it.
Safe Rider consists of an evening classroom session with a bit of homework thrown in by way of some educational downloads. They are bites from the Police Roadcraft book.
The riding session is with a Police motorcyclist on his work bike, it's about 100 miles over 5 hours or so, with three students to one instructor, each student taking the lead in turn. lots of stops for chats about your riding.
I got soaked on both my rides, but it was brilliant fun and I can honestly say that my riding has been so much more enjoyable since the courses.
The price is keen, as I understand that (in Norfolk anyway) they are subsidised by funds from the driver or speed awareness courses dished out to moderate offenders. (actually they are good too...Ask not how I know!!)

Ha ha, your secrets safe with me, no one else will notice!
I am looking forward to,it to be honest, never to old to learn and all that. Back in the day the local police used to hold a regular classroom meet at st Anne's street station ,that's where I learnt about the shoulder check or life saver as they called it".....stuck with me ever since.

Hey its Monthly meet time...again

.............they seem to be coming thick and fast this year for some reason, ok so I know we are clashing with the Egg Run this Sunday, apologies for the clash ( although Rock the Kasbah was a good one, who incidentally is also running in the Grand National )...c'mon keep up...... for those of us not at the egg run its the usual time at the Lockgate.
Weather is going to be a late call, ice on the windscreen this morning and gritting the roads again but forecast is overcast with 10% chance of rain so I will be bike, as will Pete ( as always).
Chris......let me know your plans mate, and hopefully we can see the guys who turned up mid month, sorry Rob I think you are still claiming you didnt

Lots to talk about so see you there, ride safe

Tomorrows weather is looking good both for the meeting at the Lock Gate and also for those attending the Wirral Egg Run "have a safe ride".

Hopefully there'll be a good turn out at the cafe as there's plenty of planning to do for the weekender...

Plus those special scones...

I'll do my best getting to Lockgate tomorrow , Manchester marathon is on and all the road closures seem to circle our village , hopefully be up and out before the roads start closing at 8-30am
