If you're gonna fit one of those Austin cans you may as well not bother with one at all! It will decrease your engine performance and increase volume, that's pretty much all it will do.

If there were any performance gains to be had by running such a setup wouldn't they be fitted to Ducatis flagship Moto Gp and Superbike bikes? The exhaust needs to be tuned to the engine, chopping bits off won't make it better, but more likely make it worse.

A bloke at work has a AR system on his 'prilla RSV Factory and it is on the fecking loud side of 'Oh-my-God-my-ears-are-fecking-bleeding'.
Really really harsh sounding- but then the bike itself is too I guess. I have had a pair of FBF stainless cans from new on my old 900 which give a nice deep burble and suit the old bike really well in my opinion but the sound is mostly drowned out at tickover by the ever increasing volume of clutch rattle these days- 28k miles on the original plates and basket are making themselves heard!!!

Follow up question on this. I find the stock pipe is hard to hear above 60mph (as with all the new euro 4 bikes). Do the after markets change that? My 2015 street triple sounds awesome above 70 and I don't want to lose that.

I've got the Termis on mine (see below) & as Grumpy says - oh yes, you certainly can hear any baffle-less slip on - at any speed
