First ride!
After just admiring it for several weeks, I actually got to ride the S4R yesterday! Generally very pleasing, and it was hard not to give it a modest blast or three, while going nowhere near the rev limit. Today, I'll try to adjust the suspension to cope with the rubbish roads around here: at least I have full control of damping and pre-load but have yet to find out how it differs from the OEM settings at the moment. A tad more comfort would be welcome...
The only other aspect I'd like to change is that the clutch is unexpectedly grabby, taking off from a standstill. The plates looked OK when I did my customary Quiet-Clutch mod, and that doesn't usually give any problems. I'm wondering whether to try the bizarre lithium-grease treatment that some Ducatisti espouse, though I don't know what the 996 DesmoQuattro mill will say to that! Failing that, I'd go for a new clutch pack from Barnett.
Any comments?
