Learning the code
Does anyone know how I can obtain the immobiliser code for a 620 i.e.? Guy I bought the bike from lost it.
I have red keys and black keys and the bike is fully functioning, but I would like to get the code - just in case. Is there anyway I can learn the code form a fully enabled system? I.e. get the system to tell me what the code is when everything is working OK? If not, is there any other way I can get a code, or, having the red key and taking into account everything is 100% OK, will I never need it? Cheers |

does the red or spare black key have a little metal keyring fob with it?, the mechanical code is stamped on there (but not the elctronic code)
otherwse you could try ducati direct and see what they say |

reading up the mechancial code is what you need to get new keys cut. the elctronic code you might need it is if the chip in the key or the aerial to the ECU stops working ans it allows you to override it with a complex system of key turns and light flashes on the dash (think its in the user manual)
that said, the red key is all you need to program more new keys on the the immobiliser, so as long as thats somewhere very safe i doubt you will ever need the code card |

i think it will help you get keys cut but you eed the elctronic code (whch is on the card) to diable the immobiliser
try speaking to ducati or you could try avanti race parts, there may be a way to get it to recover the electronic code from the clocks/immlbiliser light with the red key |
