How to fit a scottoiler to a Monster

I fitted mine last night. It was easy.

It takes about an hour and a half to fit to this bike. Its easy to fit and all you have to do is take your time. On the inlet manifold between the carb and the head there is a screw remove this and fit the M5 brass spigot that is in the Scottoiler kit bag, its the smallest one in the bag, screw this in until its tight and just gently nip it up with a socket or spanner . Next push on the Vacuum Damper Assembly, the black "L" shaped piece that's in the kit bag on to the brass spigot.Next find a place for the Reservoir (RMV) to sit, make sure that the Filler Plug (Part 2) is to the top on the RMV as photo 5 shows, this makes sure that oil does not drain out and also makes it easier to fill and prime the RMV. Next step is to push the Vacuum tubing (Part 3) into the Vacuum Damper Assembly (Part 4) lubricate the end of the Vacuum Tubing with a little bit of spit and push one end of the vacuum tubing in to the Damper Assembly as far as it will go. Now you need to route the rest of the vacuum tubing to the top of the RMV, use the original wiring loom ties were you can, this keeps the installation tidy and makes the pipe easier to hide, make sure that you don't come into contact with anything sharp or hot as the pipe will burn through!. Once you have got round to the top of the RMV with the vacuum tubing, cut the tubing to length moisten the vacuum pipe and again, push the pipe in to the top of the RMV. Next step is to mount the Dispenser pipe (Part 18) to the swing arm and frame in the swing arm pictures, clean the bottom of the swing arm with an alcohol based cleaner, now lubricate the thick white plastic pipe that is on Part 18 with a little bit of Scottoil, push the thick pipe through (Parts 15) and then offer the pipe up to the swing arm, once its in this position put it back down and give that part of the swing arm a rub with the sandpaper (Part 26) also give the Dispenser mounting sleeves (Parts15) a rub with the sand paper. Next step put the super Glue on to the mounting sleeves and glue them to the swing arm, use the large cable ties as well this gives the glue a chance to dry. Next use some of (Part 17) Delivery tube conduit and stick a bit of this to the frame above the swing arm, this will hold the Dispenser pipe in place, make sure you leave about an Inch of Dispenser pipe slack at this point , this covers for swing arm movement when riding. Now feed the Dispenser pipe roughly the same route as the vacuum piping, again make sure the pipe is not squashed or near anything sharp or hot, and take the pipe to the bottom of the RMV. Cut the Dispenser pipe warm the end up gently with a lighter and push the pipe as far as it will go on to the brass spigot on the bottom of the RMV. Next go back to the Dispenser pipe at the sprocket, hold the thick white part with one hand tightly and with the other hand bend the thick pipe until the black injector on the end is touching the sprocket, that it set up. Next step is to fill and prime the unit, using the oil bottle and the filling tube, pull the filler plug out of the RMV and fill the oiler up through this hole by gently squeezing the oil bottle until oil is just below the hole, next replace the filler plug, turn the adjuster top on the top of the RMV fully clockwise and place the end of the filling tube in to the top of the filler plug and again gently squeeze the oil bottle, at this point you are only pushing the oil through the pipe so keep the oil bottle low, you should start to see the oil leaving the RMV and flowing down the pipe, once the oil starts to drip on to the chain, remove the oil bottle and place the Breather Assembly(Part 9) in to the top of the filler plug. Next start you bike up and let it idle, time the drops to two per minute by turning the adjuster top anti clockwise half a number at a time until you get the right drops.

:burnout:
