Lacquer repair - belt cover
So this is stage 1
- cleaned with soap and water - de greased - rubbed down with P600, then P800, then a very fine wet dry block. - sprayed with lacquer and left over night I’ve rubbed it down again today with a P1200, in between I was running it under he tap as this shows up any flaws as it’s wet. Sprayed again and leaving over night. I’ll post update tomorrow and go again tomorrow for final coat |

Looking good so far.
My advice would be to not rub the final coat down at all until about a month after you've sprayed it. That way the lacquer will have had time to fully harden and you'll get a mirror finish with a little ultra-fine wet 'n dry and/or some cutting compound. |
