Kill switch 620ie

I recently bought a non runner monster and am wondering when the kill switch is engaged does the fuel pump turn on or does the fuel pump prime only when when the kill is disengaged.

Not familiar with the 620 but I assume it is as other Ducatis where the kill switch kills the power to the entire ignition/injection system, therefore including the fuel pump.

Ok as trying to chase this one out as have to bridge the solenoid to get her to crank but it only fires the coils once and once only.

Only other thing is when I key on the engine light lights up and key code light goes solid then out and at the same time the engine light goes out but lights back up for just five seconds.

Have been told the pump will only prime if the key code is all good and mine is doing that.

I've just tried on my '02 S4 and the fuel pump runs on that with the kill switch in either position. If that's any help at all?

That is brilliant help cheers for that. I am hoping it is just the kill switch signal not reaching the ECU

Strange how it sparks only once. It could be the kill switch I suppose or some ECU problem maybe. But if it cranks and sparks then it suggest immobiliser is ok. Do you have a wiring diagram?

If you have the ECU warning lamp on then there is an error somewhere in the ECU Canbus, could be something is not connected properly and the ECU is not seeing it. You can read the ECU error messages on a PC with some software and a connection cable to the ECU.

There are some links on the site posted in the Electrics forum on here,if you want to go that route once you've ruled out the Kill switch.

No engine light seems to function correctly, comes on with key then goes out after the code light and then back on for a few seconds and off.
I had bought this as a non runner electrical issue and had repaired the loom and had it turning over on the button which the last three owners couldn't do. It was then I found a tightening bottom end and on refitting the harness to the engine I now have no cranking on the button.
My only curiosity is how does the kill switch affect the ECU as I would imagine my one spark is when the ECU shuts down and drops the earth to the ECU.
